Just Pondering...

Even though you were raised, and it is still the way society is today, that the way to get in touch with your inner self was by going to a church. And now you feel as if you are a free spirit that doesn't want to be fenced in between four walls, how would you get in touch with the heavenly spirit? Is it true that if you let the heavenly spirits into your heart that life gets easier? Is it true that the heavenly spirits can bring a family closer?

Wow. So much I feel could be said about this subject. I feel like I have a very differing view on the matter.

First, I would say that you do not go to church to get in touch with your inner self. I feel that the church gathers in a place to be with one another. We gather for fellowship, to share our lives with each other, to grow together. When the early church gathered together they spent the entire day together. They ate, read and studied scripture, sang, prayed, and worked together. Our lead pastor, Justin, often says that, "we worship in the mists of life." Meaning that worship is so much more than coming together for "church", it's being the church in our every day lives. There is no box. You do not have to go to a building to be in fellowship with Christ. You simply have to call out to Him. Pray, he's there.

"Is it true that if you let the heavenly spirits into your heart that life gets easier?"

What a myth. No, it's not true. What is true is that if you accept God's grace and forgiveness, you will leave this world at death and enter into God's kingdom. The Bible is really clear that here, on Earth, we will have struggles and trials and heartache. It's been very evident amoungst our church family that this is true. This last year has been heartrenching. Satan has been at work. He is desperate to tear us down as a church, as individuals.

"Is it true that the heavenly spirits can bring a family closer?"

Christ can do amazing things. He can move mountains and he can draw families closer. At the same time, satan is at work and wants to distroy the family unit. Fortunatly, Christ is stronger and when we rely on Christ to be the glue in our marriage and our family, we can prevail over the evil one.
