Been a while since I last blogged. Been a long couple of weeks too here at the Smith house. Two weeks ago both Dawson & Justin came down with a head cold. Then last week I was sick with the head cold and then to help matters I ate some of the recalled peanut butter and got sick for a few more days. Then yesterday and the night before Aaron decided that he needed to get sick and stay home. Tonight Justin is starting to come down with something. So far Dawson just has the sniffles so hope it don't get any worse. Needless to say, even if it don't help, I am going to bleach clean this house starting tomorrow. Am glad that I don't have to work tomorrow. Aaron is on-call for tomorrow and the Boys both have school until 1:15. With or without Aaron though there is an estate sale just a 1/2 mile up the road that I thought that I would go check out. Maybe with the weather the way it has been this week, not many people will show so the prices will be lower.
Speaking of weather...here I was last week thinking about putting together my little greenhouse and ready to start thinking about starting a few flower seeds. Then this week old man winter decided to come back from his vacation to the Bahama's. Yesterday it started snowing at 3:pm and didn't quit until after I went to bed at 8:30. Woke up at 4 this morning to almost 2 inches of the toxic white stuff. This afternoon it started to snow this time at 4:pm and here it is 6 and it is still snowing side ways. Good thing that it warms to near 40 degrees during the day. The snow was soaked into the ground before 10 today.
Dawson is now going into the 2nd grade classroom for Language Arts every day for a half hour. He has been working on it by himself in the 1st grade since the start of this nine weeks. So to better help and challenge him we decided that it was okay to send him into the 2nd grade room. Justin is starting to catch on with reading books that are first readers. This week he has been bringing home these papers that have "no nonsense words" on it to learn. Don't ask why but they are words like kec, pax, cip, etc. Next Friday night is their schools carnival and it is a really big thing for Baker. Last year there were so many people everywhere in the school that it was really hard to push your way down the halls. It is the biggest money maker for the PTCO (known as PTA when I was a kid). Both Dawson & Justin are really excited for it. They brought home some raffle tickets to sell and who ever's class returns the most money each day gets some sort of prize. Tickets are 50 cents a piece and don't have to be present to win if any one's interested :0)
Well I best go and see what two quiet, mind you very quiet, Boys' are up to right now. Aaron is at a union meeting so the three of us are winging it tonight. Kinda nice not having the TV a blare. Wishing you all smiles and sunshine! :0)
