Fire

For some reason the District ODOT office called my cell phone today looking for Aaron. There is a wildfire near I-84 just south east of Baker and they needed ODOT workers from Baker to perform traffic control on the roads. The fire was caused by lightning around 2 or 2:30 today and grew fairly fast with the winds from the lightning storms that have been going through our little valley this afternoon. It was a good thing that Dawson and Justin were already spending the day/night with my folks because I had to work at Blue Mtn. Asphalt today when Aaron had to go to work. Luckily Russ (another ODOT worker from Baker) answered his cell phone when Aaron called so he went to help. At first they closed the east bound side of I-84 but the last time that I spoke with Aaron around 5:30 they had opened the freeway back up but had closed the old Highway 30 instead. As I look from our office window towards the Pleasant Valley where the fire is near, all I see if storm clouds and haze. For the most part the storms have passed but the muggy, sticky heat didn't go with the storms.
